This month we are supporting a local organisation Bicester Bowl Club.
One of our members Martin Graves is President this year of the Bicester Bowls Club that’s based in Garth Park.
They lease their building from the Town Council and have done so since 1951.
Due to its age there are a number of urgent repairs and upgrades needed to continue to provide the service to the community that they currently do.
Apart from the bowls they are home to the Bicester Pigeon club, Chess Club and a number of other organisations who use the clubhouse for meetings.
In these difficult times funds are hard to find so with the support of Sports England they are launching a Crowdfunding effort to raise much needed funds to help them continue their work to bring sports and leisure activities to the lovely folk of Bicester.
Please see their goals and aspirations on the below link, to improve the facilities and expand the use of this important community hub.
A message from Martin Graves , Bowls Club President, “Whilst our membership, friends and family have supported the club through recent months we are hoping that local businesses may be in a position to help us achieve our target. If we can find corporate sponsors willing to donate to the cause we can apply for match funding from Sports England (under certain criteria).”
At the Chamber we really support local social and community enterprises so hope that you’ll get behind this crowdfunding to assist a much loved and long standing community sporting hub. Thank you
