Accessing business support – easy or not?
Most business owners and managers experience moments of concern, challenge and anxiety about what is happening and the demands on them and their business. This ranges from the start up to the CEI of large corporate company’s – after all even Richard Branson has a pool of advisors to talk with!
In Oxfordshire, unlike many other Counties, there is a range of accessible business support offers, including that from Oxfordshire Business Support (OBS), which, among many things, offers workshops on a range of business-related matters and manages and helps you, navigate available grant funds.
Specific to Bicester there is also a wealth of Business Networks that allow you to meet with other business owners and directors and share the good, the bad and the ugly about being in business, boosting your confidence and connectivity to improve the sustainability of all those attending. The Chamber of Commerce has a number of members who are always happy to offer guidance and advice to businesses at Chamber events or face-to-face.
Bicester Vision, here the Partnership Meetings usually have an information related foundation that will allow you to leave better informed than when you arrived.
Wednesday Business Club, now in its tenth year and offering affordable Networking and mutual support to its members, with many reporting the benefits in terms of reduced stress and better clarity over the day-to-day challenges of ‘being in business’.
4Networking Athena and the Oxfordshire Project all also have a presence in the town and/or surrounding area and offer many similar befits to those detail above. NB: The Chamber is aware of a ‘startup’ that us receiving much valuable support from the Oxfordshire Project.
All the above have an online presence and can be found via a web search, attending regularly and active participation will bring a benefit in many different ways – it’s about more than just finding more business.
